Actor Akshay Kumar has given an interview to ANI news agency ahead of the premiere of his upcoming movie ‘Samrat Prithviraj’. In this interview, apart from the things related to the movie, Akshay Kumar has also talked about the educational system of the country, the history. During the interview, Akshay Kumar called on the government to teach children about the country’s kings.
Speaking to ANI, Akshay Kumar said that there is no one writing about Prithviraj Chavan in our history books. I would like to appeal to the Minister of Education to look into this matter to see if we can balance the story. We should know about the Mughals, that’s fine, but people should also know about our kings, they should be taught, they were great too.
People’s reactions: A user named Satyasarathi wrote that “if the school had been done in India instead of Canada, then not only the Mughals but also India’s five thousand year history would have been known.” This Prithviraj Chavan was also the king of the Mughals 400 years before. Gyanendra Jha wrote that “Canadian Kumar used to intoxicate false nationalism in the past to save his career and now he is turning to the Hindu-Muslims to save the film.”
Prithviraj wrote that ‘Where have you studied in India, where the lesson of courage from Prithviraj Chavan and Maharana Pratap was not taught?’ Akhilesh Tripathi wrote that “when did the Canadian Babu become a great historian who began to question history itself?”. Yadvendra Kumar wrote that ‘they are not Indian citizens nor do they know the history. Just do drama to earn money.
Rajiv Goyal wrote that ‘If Akshay Kumar speaks something about educational policy and the content of the book, will it be heard now?’ Journalist Sohit Mishra wrote that ‘It is not Akshay Kumar’s fault, Akshay Kumar himself had said before that studies have never been important to him. Now when the movie has to show up at the box office something has to be said and when the existing Muslims cannot be attacked then the Mughals are right.
Journalist Rohini Singh wrote that “if this Canadian citizen had studied history in Indian schools, he would have read about all the dynasties and rulers, including the Mughals and Hindu kings. Little knowledge is dangerous. Vidya wrote that “Akshay Kumar cannot be taken seriously unless he relinquishes his Canadian passport to support his concern for India.”
Comedian Sanjay Rajoura wrote that the man would appear in a movie in the near future, “The Return of Chacha Chaudhary and Raka”, and would say that “there are no lines about Raka in our history books”. Aalishan Jaffrey wrote that ‘Why Prithviraj Chauhan will be taught in Canada’. Journalist Madhurendra Kumar wrote that ‘Now the actors will also teach history! To sell your film, do public relations, not propaganda.
